Credit card companies goal is take the money they lend and earn the compound interests from it. If you want to avoid getting in debt don’t make credit card application as your first option.
Here are tips you need to do in dealing with your credit cards:
1. Cut up the rest. Use only one credit card and cancel the others.
2. Consider your credit card a safety net for emergencies only
3. Pay off the balance. Minimum payments can’t cover interest charge.
4. Get a low interest rate. Beware of zero percent interest because it doesn’t last forever. Many credit cards offer this as an introductory rate.
5. Watch your statement.
6. Utilize rewards.
7. Pay on time and pay ahead of time. This allows you to avoid extra interest charges on credit card.
